Some of the most complex coding involves pulmonary and other respiratory conditions. In this webinar, we dive deep into coding for COPD, emphysema, and asthma; discover different strains of influenza and how they are coded differently; explore pneumonia combination codes; delve into codes for respiratory failure. We also address coding for COVID-19 and give tips for querying to ensure accurate reporting.
- Identify strains of influenza that have specific codes
- Differentiate between upper and lower respiratory infection
- Assign codes for COPD with other respiratory conditions
- Apply coding guidelines for COVID-19
- Recognize the impact of respiratory failure coding on DRG assignment
