This module presents the fundamentals necessary to apply codes for cardiac and vascular diagnoses. This module is comprised of four lessons:
•Overview of the circulatory system.
•ICD-10 coding in the circulatory system.
•Cardiac and vascular diseases.
•ICD-10-CM coding practice.  CEU


•Identify a coronary artery bypass graft as autologous, nonautologous, or synthetic.
•Differentiate between cerebral and precerebral arteries.
•Select the appropriate codes for past and subsequent acute myocardial infarction based on coding guidelines.
•Indicate the documentation elements that must be present in order to fully  report a CVA.

This program has been approved for 1 continuing education unit for use in fulfilling the continued education requirements of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
