Cardiovascular Service Line ~ Part 2 of 2



This module is part 2 of the cardiovascular service line. This module builds upon the information given in Part 1. This module provides specific information about coding for the peripheral circulatory system, in other words, procedures performed on the vascular system other than the heart and great vessels.


•Determine the body system value for different peripheral arteries of the body.
•Select the root operation for stent placement.
•Differentiate between types of aneurysm procedure approaches.
•Assign codes for procedures involving the creation of arteriovenous fistulas and grafts.
•Identify methods for treating procedures on varicose veins.
•Apply ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines to assign codes for procedures on the heart and vascular system.
