Description
This course completes the Gastroenterology service line. The focus of this course includes a look at procedures in the gastrointestinal body system of PCS, and procedures involving the hepatobiliary system and pancreas.
Objectives:
Lesson 1: Procedures on the Gastrointestinal System
- Determine when to use the upper and lower intestinal tract body parts versus specific body part values
- Identify the extent of certain colectomy procedures
- Match a list of gastric bypass procedures to their operative techniques
- Determine the root operation for Nissen fundoplication
- Select the body part values for various types of hernia repairs
Lesson 2: Procedures Involving the Hepatobiliary System and Pancreas
- Determine the root operation and approach for the Whipple procedure
- Identify the procedure approach for ERCP
