Fracture coding in CPT requires meticulous attention to operative report details as well as a solid understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy and fracture types. During this session, we will discuss the most common types of fractures and various treatment procedures.
Objectives:
- Review anatomy of the bones and skeleton
- Locate CPT codes for fractures of the distal and proximal ends of long bones
- Distinguish between intra-articular and extra-articular fractures
- Apply CPT codes to common fracture procedures
