Description
For FY 2023, CMS enhanced the ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines to define detachment levels for extremity amputations. What better time for a review of amputation coding? In this webinar, we will address some anatomy related to the amputation qualifiers, review the updated guidelines, and apply the guidelines and PCS conventions to assign codes to amputation case studies.
Objectives:
- Apply guidelines for qualifier selection for amputation of arms and legs, hands and feet, and fingers and toes
- Determine the qualifier for a Chopart amputation
- Recognize components of an amputation that are included in the Detachment root operation that is not coded separately
