Description

Coding for moms and babies in the hospital setting is the number-one requested education topic we receive. We’re back again to build on webinars from previous years and this time, we have documentation! This webinar will present real mom and baby cases; we will address documentation issues and code the cases applying coding guidelines and conventions and the always popular “MEAT” criteria. If you struggle with OB coding in the facility inpatient setting, be sure to tune in!

Objectives:

  • Abstract medical record documentation applicable to code assignment
  • Identify query opportunities
  • Distinguish between codeable documentation for the maternal vs. the newborn record

Absolutely love this type of case study approach to teaching proper coding. Reassurance to look past the obvious discrepancies due to EHR template errors to code accurately. Also liked the review of the references pertinent to the cases.
