In part 2 of this nonvascular interventional radiology series, we continue our discussion on these minimally invasive procedures by covering urinary, biliary, and gastrointestinal procedures performed in the IR lab.
Objectives:
- Differentiate between internal and internal-external biliary catheters
- Recognize when a tube change is coded as insertion of a new tube vs. replacement of an existing tube
- Distinguish between biliary procedures performed through percutaneous access vs. ERCP

Kristi Pollard, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIRCC
Kristi serves as the Director of Coding Quality & Education and brings more than 30 years of experience in the health information and coding industry.
