Description

This course completes the anatomy of the nervous system. Also covered are various procedures commonly performed on this system. In addition, the learner will have the opportunity to explore additional services that are typically encountered with neurosurgery cases.

 

Objectives:

Lesson 1: Central and Peripheral Nervous System Anatomy

  • Name, locate and label the body parts associated with the central and peripheral nervous systems
  • Differentiate between the body parts found in the ICD-10-PCS tables of the central and peripheral nervous system
  • Name the body system where the body part value for the cranial cavity is found

Lesson 2: Removal, Drainage, Separation of Body Parts

  • Explain how common procedures are performed on the nervous system involving removing, draining or separating body parts
  • Assign correct root operations to commonly performed nervous system procedures
  • Choose ICD-10-PCS character values for nervous system procedures

Lesson 3: Moving Body Parts and Altering Route of Passage

  • Explain how common procedures are performed on the nervous system that involve moving body parts and altering the route of tubular body parts
  • Assign correct root operations commonly performed on nervous system procedures
  • Choose ICD-10-PCS character values for nervous system procedures

Lesson 4: Repairing, Inspecting, and Using Devices

  • Explain how common procedures are performed on the nervous system that involve repairing, inspecting and using devices in or on body parts
  • Assign correct root operations to commonly performed nervous system procedures
  • Choose all of the correct ICD-10-PCS character values for nervous system procedures

The course was well done. I was hoping to have more complex spinal fusion cases as examples and quiz questions.
