Kristi Pollard, Director of Coding Quality & Education

Kristi serves as the Director of Coding Quality & Education and brings more than 30 years of experience in the health information and coding industry. In her role, she oversees the development of comprehensive training materials – including web-based courses, instructor-led training, and webinars – while also providing education in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT. Her expertise extends to conducting DRG and APC audits and leading a wide range of coding quality initiatives.
With a deep background in coding education and consulting, Kristi is a nationally recognized speaker and published author on ICD-10, CPT coding, and code-based reimbursement. She has designed and implemented robust inpatient and outpatient training programs, with specialized emphasis on vascular interventional radiology, cardiology, and obstetrics.
Kristi has been an active leader in the Colorado Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), serving as President/Delegate, Director, chair of the Community Connections Committee, co-chair of the Data Quality Committee, and co-chair of the ICD-10 Task Force. She is also a past president of the Northern Colorado Health Information Management Association (NCHIMA). Her contributions to the profession have been recognized through numerous honors, including the 2011 AHIMA Triumph Award for Mentoring for her work as the “Coder Coach,” CHIMA’s Distinguished Member Award (2018) and Outstanding Volunteer Award (2013), and AHIMA’s Roundtable Achievement in Coding Excellence (RACE) Award.
Kristi is a Colorado native and resides there with her husband and daughter. A self-proclaimed cat person who also has a soft spot for dogs, she is the proud “mom” to one canine and two feline fur babies.
