Kathi Scott, VP Learning & Development

As vice-president of learning and development, Kathi is responsible for the operational success of Haugen Academy. From education and training needs analysis, course development, implementation and roll out through post event optimization, Kathi and her team are committed to meeting the training needs of client organizations. Kathi is an inspired educator who is committed to assuring that learning with Haugen Academy provides value to the student and their organization in an engaging format. Kathi strives to incorporate a healthy dose of humor, a few games, and a bit of fun to assure an optimal learning environment.
Prior to joining Haugen Consulting Group, Kathi facilitated instructor-led training, webinars and online learning events for Iowa State University, Iowa Department of Human Services, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Kathi still holds her appointment as an adjunct faculty member at DMACC.
Kathi has spoken locally and nationally on topics such as team building, leading successful teams, communication, leadership and conflict management.
Kathi is a member of the American Society for Training and Development.
Kathi earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration and psychology from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and received her master’s degree in adult learning and organizational performance from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.
Kathi calls the rolling hills of Iowa home, along with her husband, two daughters, one son, and two dogs.
