Description
Join us for Complex Injections and Infusions Coding! Coding for facility injections and infusions can be a challenging and tricky task, especially when faced with lengthy encounters or less-common medications. In this webinar, we familiarize coders with the basic concepts and guidelines around facility injections and infusions by reviewing the hierarchy and identifying when a service is primary, subsequent or sequential. We then provide practical examples to identify therapeutic vs chemotherapy administrations and apply these examples to aid in coding complex drug administration encounters.
Objectives:
- Review the injections and infusions hierarchy
- Determine when to use primary vs subsequent vs sequential codes
- Identify therapeutic vs chemotherapy injection and infusion procedures
- Analyze complex injection and infusion scenarios to accurately code the drug administrations
