As HI professionals, a common resolution to not allow to slide is investing the time and resources in personal career growth over the next year and helping workplace teams and colleagues build their knowledge and skills.
Training and development benefit both organizations and individuals. For employers, educational opportunities pay off through increased employee retention and engagement. At the same time, individuals may have improved job satisfaction as well as increased opportunities for career advancement."

Mary Beth Haugen is the founder and CEO of Haugen Consulting Group and Haugen Academy. She has over thirty years of experience in the health care industry. Mary Beth believes in developing creative solutions to meet the specific needs of each client. She takes pride in leading an amazing team of experienced healthcare experts. Mary Beth is passionate about maintaining a culture where innovation is encouraged and the team has opportunities to gain knowledge and expand skills while doing meaningful work.
Prior to launching Haugen Consulting Group, Mary Beth held leadership roles in information services and health information management in a variety of healthcare settings.
Mary Beth is a passionate supporter of the HIM profession. She has previously served as a board member for AHIMA, AHIMA Foundation and the Council on Education and Excellence (CEE), AHIMA Leadership Advisory Panel, AHIMA’s Academic Task Force and several offices for CHIMA. She has served as a member of AHIMA’s EHR Practice Council and also serves on University of Cincinnati HIM Program Advisory Board. Mary Beth was the proud recipient AHIMA Triumph Award for Leadership and CHIMA Distinguished Member Award.
