Outpatient Interventional Radiology Learning Plan

From: $0.00

Interventional radiology (IR) continues to expand as minimally invasive procedures play an increasingly important role in outpatient care. As procedure complexity grows, coding professionals need specialized knowledge to accurately interpret documentation, apply coding guidelines, and support compliant reimbursement. The Outpatient Interventional Radiology Learning Plan was designed to help coders build confidence and competency in one of healthcare’s most challenging and rewarding specialties.

Interventional Radiology Learning Plan 1

The Outpatient Interventional Radiology Learning Plan 1 (IR LP1) focuses on core interventional radiology coding concepts, covering nonvascular IR procedures, diagnostic arterial studies, and arterial revascularization. Learners build practical skills in reviewing IR operative reports, selecting codes for catheter placement, angiography, and diagnostic imaging, and applying coding guidelines across arterial systems, including cerebrovascular cases. Extensive hands-on practice through the Haugen Academy Playground (HAP) enables learners to code real-world IR cases and build accuracy and confidence.

Interventional Radiology Learning Plan 2

The Interventional Radiology Learning Plan 2 (IR LP2) advances learners into complex vascular and endovascular IR coding, including venous interventions, dialysis circuits, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, embolization, venous access devices, portal and pulmonary procedures, and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). Learners apply coding principles to high-complexity procedures and detailed operative reports. Hands-on Haugen Academy Playground (HAP) case work provides real-world IR coding experience to reinforce decision-making, consistency, and confidence.
