Description
This course is all about hips and knees! The first two lessons cover hip anatomy, incision and excision, and repair and replacement procedures. Falling to our knees in Lessons 3 and 4 the discussion continues on those common procedures involving the knees. The course concludes with fracture and dislocation treatments from hip to knee.
Objectives:
Lesson 1: Hip Anatomy and Incision/Excision Procedures
- Label the components of pelvis and hip joint
- Differentiate between total and partial hip arthroplasty and identify various types of fracture fixation devices
Lesson 2: Hip Repairs and Joint Replacement
- Determine the correct code for hip contracture procedures
- Assign codes for various hip arthroplasty procedures
Lesson 3: Knee Anatomy and Incision/Excision Procedures
- Identify key structures of the knee joint
- Distinguish open from arthroscopic knee procedures
Lesson 4: Knee Repair and Replacement
- Assign codes to knee arthroscopy procedures
- Differentiate partial from total knee arthroplasty
Lesson 5: Fracture and Dislocation for the Pelvis and Upper Leg
- Identify various types of fracture fixation devices
- Assign codes to fracture procedure reports
