To code or not to code? That is often the question when it comes to reporting procedures using ICD-10-PCS. If you are stuck in limbo wondering whether or not to pick up certain procedure codes, join us for this educational presentation. In this webinar, we will cover UHDDS guidelines for significant procedure as well as principal procedure. From procedures that are integral to others to procedures performed at bedside, we will give you tips and pointers for identifying significant procedures and help you refine or get started on a facility “do code/don’t code” list.

Kristi Pollard, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIRCC

Kristi is the Director of Coding Quality & Education with more than 25 years of industry experience; she is responsible for the development of web-based, instructor-led, and webinar training materials; conducting training in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT; and performing DRG and APC audits. Kristi has an extensive background in coding education and consulting and is a national speaker and published writer on topics related to ICD-10 and CPT coding and code-based reimbursement. She has designed and developed training programs for inpatient and outpatient hospital-based coding, with a focus on vascular interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, orthopedics, and obstetrics.

    We are a bit of a rarity at our facility, as we code ICD-10-PCS codes for both inpatient and outpatient. I really liked the presentation of the guidelines to help figure out if something should be coded or not.
