Description

The list of CPT and HCPCS modifiers for facilities may not be as long as those for profee, but it can be difficult to find information about how to adapt modifiers for hospital use. This webinar will cover the modifiers for facility use, where to find guidance for their use, and specific examples applying them. If you code outpatient encounters for hospitals, you can’t afford to miss this webinar.

Objectives:

  • Differentiate between modifiers 52, 73, and 74
  • Locate payer guidance on the use of modifiers in the hospital setting
  • Determine when to use modifier 59/X(ESPU) versus another modifier to satisfy NCCI edits

Click here to view the webinar Q&A.
Modifier 59—or a More Specific X Modifier? Watch this webinar preview to learn how modifier 59 and the X{EPSU} modifiers distinguish separate encounters, structures, practitioners, and non-overlapping services.

I loved that you gave the modifiers little names to help us remember who they are and what they do. Thank you for suggesting the MPFS lookup tool to help with determining if a bilateral modifier applies to our codes!

I thought this webinar was very informative and relevant to my current role. I like the named characters you use because it does help to retain the information! I would love to see you cover complex OB/GYN procedures for CPT. As a profee women’s health coder it would be helpful. I did appreciate your other complex OB webinar that covered PCS. Appreciate what you all do!
