Description

Bronchoscopy Coding for procedures performed in the outpatient setting presents unique challenges for coders. Knowing how to code diagnostic and surgical bronchoscopies—and recognizing potential bundling issues—is key to accurate reporting of bronchoscopy procedures.

Objectives:

  • Demonstrate the ability to relate respiratory system anatomy to CPT code descriptors through practical case examples
  • Assign procedure codes for common diagnostic and surgical bronchoscopies
  • Describe NCCI guidelines that relate to reporting bronchoscopy codes

As an auditor with ZERO pulm experience, this was a great intro into bronchoscopies and cleared up some of my confusion! I would love a more advanced course as a followup!
