Amy Richardson, Vice President of Consulting Services
In her role as vice president of consulting services, Amy is responsible for leading the team of consultants in delivering creative business and technology solutions for healthcare providers. Amy enjoys working with organizations and excels at working collaboratively with client partners to identify key business issues and develop customized, workable solutions. She brings more than twenty-five years of experience in the health information management field to Haugen Consulting Group.
Prior to joining Haugen, Amy served in leadership roles in health information management and electronic health record implementations.
Amy is an adjunct professor at Regis University, teaching and mentoring students to prepare them for successful careers in the healthcare industry.
Amy is active in AHIMA and Colorado’s Health Information Management Association (CHIMA). Amy has held numerous board positions with CHIMA and is proud to serve as president for the 2016-2017 term.
Amy has presented locally and nationally on topics such as ICD-10, legal health record, implementation of document imaging, and HIT leadership. She has also collaborated on various publications discussing document imaging, electronic records and legal medical records.
Amy earned her associate’s degree in health information technology from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Michigan and her bachelor’s degree in health information management from Regis University, Denver, Colorado. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Amy and her dog, Daisy, can generally be found romping across the great outdoor spaces of Colorado and Michigan (and anywhere in-between!). She enjoys camping, hiking, adventures and exploring. Amy also volunteers as a mentor for the Denver Kids, Inc. program.
