Product Description

This ICD-10-CM course Diseases of the Circulatory System, presents the fundamentals necessary to apply codes for cardiac and vascular diagnoses. This course comprises four lessons that will provide an overview of the circulatory system, ICD-10 coding in the circulatory system, cardiac and vascular diseases, and finally, ICD-10-CM coding practice.

Objectives:

Lesson 1: Overview

  • Identify coronary artery bypass grafts as autologous, nonautologous, or synthetic
  • Differentiate between cerebral and precerebral arteries

Lesson 2: CM Coding

  • Identify coding guidelines related to cardiovascular diagnoses
  • Utilize tabular instructional notes

Lesson 3: Cardiac and Vascular Diseases

  • Assign codes for previous and subsequent acute myocardial infarction based on coding guidelines
  • Indicate the documentation elements that must be present in order to fully report a CVA

Well done – I struggle with CVA and MI coding as my experience is limited to outpatient coding and auditing. I have gained a lot more confidence in both categories.
