Q: How many code changes are there to the coronary revascularization CPT codes for 2026?
A: For 2026, there are 2 new, 9 revised, and 8 deleted CPT codes describing procedures for percutaneous coronary intervention.
Q: Will the corresponding HCPCS codes in the C96xx range also be changing for 2026?
A: At the time of this webinar recording, the 2026 HCPCS codes and the OPPS Final Rule have not yet been released. Therefore, it is not yet known whether the HCPCS codes in the C96xx range will be changing for 2026. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) typically releases the annual HCPCS updates in December, at which time additional details regarding any revisions or additions will become available.
Q: Which modifier is used for code 92937 when PCI is performed on a LIMA graft?
A: Assign the modifier that corresponds to the coronary artery supplied by the bypass graft. For example, when a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is performed on the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) graft to the left anterior descending (LAD) artery, report modifier LD to identify the LAD as the treated coronary artery.
