Q: Now that there are ICD-10 code updates on October 1 and April 1, what will be the MS-DRG version on April 1, 2024?
A: October 1, 2023 will launch V41.0 On April 1, 2024, this will be updated to V41.1.
Q: The codes for homelessness have been added to the CC list for FY 2024. Are there plans to add more SDOH codes to the CC list?
A: It is possible that more SDOH codes could be added to the CC list. CMS is soliciting public comment to determine if there are other social drivers that impact the care the patient receives. Comments can be submitted through the MEARIS™ system (https://mearis.cms.gov/) by October 20, 2023 for consideration in the FY 2025 rulemaking process.
Q: Where can I find a list of all the MS-DRGs for FY 2024?
A: The list of MS-DRGs for FY 2024 is included in Table 5, which can be found on the FY 2024 Final Rule homepage on CMS’ website (https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/prospective-payment-systems/acute-inpatient-pps/fy-2024-ipps-final-rule-home-page).
Q: Where can I find a list of al the CCs and MCCs effective October 1, 2023?
A: Tables 6A-6K include lists of the new, revised, and deleted diagnosis codes, additions and deletions to the CC/MCC list, additions and deletions to the CC and MCC exclusion lists, additions and deletions to the CC and MCC lists, and lists of all CCs and MCCs for FY 2024. This can be found on the FY 2024 Final Rule home page on CMS’ website (https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/prospective-payment-systems/acute-inpatient-pps/fy-2024-ipps-final-rule-home-page).
