Description
Shoulder procedures, including rotator cuff repair, impingement surgery, and debridement, have been a pain point for many CPT coders over the years. Determining which procedures are bundled and which can be coded separately is complicated by conflicting advice from the AMA, CMS, and medical society. Join us as we dissect operative reports and apply CPT codes.
Objectives:
- Identify anatomical structures of the shoulder joint
- Determine operative report documentation that is required for coding
- Differentiate between various CPT codes and when to use them
- Identify when debridements bundle into a more extensive procedure
