Description

Vascular interventional radiology is one of the most difficult areas of CPT coding. Understanding the rules is one thing, but applying them is a whole other webinar. This is that webinar series! This presentation is for the coder who has some experience in VIR coding and would like to expand their knowledge by working through some cases. This step-by-step demonstration walks through authentic procedure reports while the presenter discusses pertinent anatomy and coding guidelines. In Part 1, we code revascularization procedures.

Objectives:

  • Determine when a diagnostic study can be reported with a therapeutic intervention
  • Distinguish between lower extremity procedures for occlusive disease vs. another indication
  • Assign CPT codes to procedure reports
