Q: Are there new conversion factors for anesthesiologists in 2026?
A: Yes, the conversion factor amounts are different – $20.60 for QP and $20.50 for NQPs. In 2025, it was $20.32.

Q: What will all these changes, including the 2026 work RVUs, the site differentials and the conversion factors mean to physicians overall?
A: The effect of these changes for 2026 will depend on the type of provider you are and where you practice. For example, the AMA estimates it may be as much as a -7% in reimbursement for those based in facility settings and +4% for those providers in non-facility settings.

Q: If code G0136 is going away for 2026, can providers still get credit for the work they do in relation to SDOH affecting patient care?
A: At the moment, providers can get credit using the 2021 E/M guidelines via the ‘risk’ element if the documentation supports that SDOH is significantly limiting the diagnosis or treatment of the patient.
